The author was a Fleet Air Arm Pilot flying the famous Swordfish torpedo bomber in WWII. He took part in Norwegian and Dunkirk Campaigns, the attack on Toranto, operated from a secret base in Albania, later from Malta, captured and imprisoned by the Vichy French.
