First Edition.Sir Charles Roberts 1860-1943 was a Canadian poet and novelist, He was born, raised and educated in New Brunswick and served as a high-school principal for many years. In 1897, he moved to New York, where he became a freelance journalist. When WWI came, he entered the army as a private and left as a major. He lived in England until 1925, then he returned to Canada,living in Toronto for the rest of his life. Although best known for his poetry, he also wrote adventure novels and short-stories. This is one of his adventure novels set in the early 1900s involving a Serbian Prince and the use of airplanes in the attempt to recover a hoard of diamonds hidden in the Bosnian mountains. 248 Pages plus a frontispiece plate.
