Falkus. Hugh.: Some Of It Was Fun. , Ellesmere. The Medlar Press. 2003.1st edn (stated). Hardback in d/w. 198pp. B/w illustrations throughout by Scott Adkins. Green cloth boards with gilt titles to spine. FINE uninscribed copy in near FINE unclipped d/w. Hugh Falkus' finest book is widely regarded to be The Stolen Years. His plan was that The Stolen Years was to have been the first in a trilogy of books covering his whole life. He worked on the manuscript for the second book from time to time but did not pursue it according to that original plan. Sadly, the second and third books never materialised in print and the manuscript was put to one side and largely forgotten. Some of it was Fun is likely to be part, if not all, of that 'lost' manuscript. The re-discovery of this text gives us the chance to enjoy a previously unpublished selection of Falkus' writing when we thought there would be no more.
