Pencil memoranda by Fitzgerald to p528, pencil scoring by Fitzgerald. Various notes and ownership signature by Edward Clodd, Banker, Anthropologist and Officer of the Omar Khayyam Club, to front endpapers. Page laid in from auction results detailing Fitzgerald bookplate selling for £2 5s in 1938. ". 2pp of an 1894 review of 'The Letters Joseph Jekyll' pasted in at back. Page of Quaritch 'Rough List' No 199 detailing a collection from the Fitzgerald library tipped in at back. Apart from the Fitzgerald connection, this is in itself a fascinating book probably most famous for a woderfully bitchy description of Emma Hamilton and Lord Nelson. "She is bold, forward, coarse, assuming and vain. Her figure is collossal, but, excepting her feet, which are hideous, well shaped." This continues for 8 pages!.
