A very good full leather binding (probably 19th century?). 9" x 7" x 1.75" . Brown full calf. Spine carefully repaired, with 5 raised bands and recent maroon leather title label. Armorial bookplate to verso of front board: "James George Scott", with motto: "Virtue Ac Labore". Also ink signature to front free-endpaper: "Eliza Scott". Text begins with first leaf of Genesis (lacks title and preliminary leaves). First leaf lightly soiled, and strengthened along the leading edge, otherwise clear roman letter text with good margins (just the normal blemishes and light soiling). First part of the Bible ends with Job f.190. Second Part of the Bible ends on f.127. Engraved New Testament title, dated 1599, with map before the beginning of Matthew. Revelation ends on f.121. Followed by: "A Briefe Table of the interpretation..." (no title), ending with colophon also dated 1599. Bound with: "The Psalmes of David...Edinburgh, Printed by Evan Tyler, 1650." Title within woodcut border, but incomplete, ending on Psalm LVI. Variant B: Definitely printed after 1599 with some corrections from those errors found in Variant A .
