Brown cloth over bevelled boards with coloured five-point star and gilt titles to front cover (the rear board with a similar blind-stamp design). Corners bumped and edges a little rubbed. . Clean light brown endpapers. Coloured frontis of the five-point star. Followed by a presentation page with hand-coloured border, with details: "Presented to Naomi J. Briggs By Flagler Chapter No. 355 State of New York, 1909." Clean printed title dated 1875. Clean text throughout, well illustrated with numerous woodcuts, diagrams and musical notation.
