"When Jim Corbett first went on its trail, the Man-Eating Leopard of Rudraprayag was already credited with more than 120 human kills. For six years it had held absolute sway over an area of 500 square miles in Garhwal....The leopard operated from 1918 to 1926 and killed a total of 125 men, women and children before it was shot by the author in Golabrai on 26 May 1926.
