Pp.xii/234/10(ads for other publications), illustrated throughout with engravings, gift message to front reads: "The instinctive love of nature has been implanted in the mind of every man. May it be fostered by the aid of this little book in the mind and heart of my little Godson, Geo. William Henshall. Hadley Vicarage July 3 1880". Some mild spotting to endpapers and to title page and frontispiece, binding a little loose but holding.
