First issue with the errors to contents page with mis-titling of chapter VI as "Fortunatus' Purse" which is actually titled "Mein Herr", and incorrect page listings of final four illustrations which are present. All edges gilt. Pagination - xxxii(introduction and preliminaries/423/2(blanks)/6 advertisements for other works by Lewis Carroll with final leaf a 'specimen page' facsimile of the original MS book of "Alice's Adventures Under Ground" afterwards developed into "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". Forty six illustrations by Harry Furniss. Previous owner's illustrated (two crows in a tree with the title "The Wicked Borroweth and Payeth Not Again") bookplate to inside front board of Emma Louisa Turner, ornithologist and author who was one of only a few women admitted as a Fellow of the Linnean Society.
