G+. **Born in England in 1867, Herbert Cole is one of the many journeyman artists who worked for the illustrated magazines of the late 19th century. He was a prolific artist about whom little is known. He died in 1930.Cole has something of the style of Walter Crane - a generation earlier as well as Rackham, Dulac and Pogany.
