This is a formal critique of the validity of the McMahon letters, and written in parallel with the British publication in 1939 of these long-secret letters [Cmd5957], the other associated documents [Cmd5964] and a report by a Committee set up to consider these matters in March 1939 [Cmd5974] The overall thrust of this paper concludes that the British committment to the League of Nations Mandate in 1922 over-rides all previous informal agreements such as McMahon, Hogarth, Emir Feisal/Dr Weizmann, etc. Copies of letters from Feisal to Frankfurter, statements by T E Lawrence, Col Vickery etc are also included.
