He was a lawyer and noted orator. Raised in Travis Lodge No. 117, Sherman, Texas, he was Grand Master of Texas in 1921. He was the father of 'Little Masonic Library' and 'National Masonic Library', as well as 'The Master Mason' Magazine. From 1923-28 he was executive secretary of the Masonic Service Association.
