Hb, 9" x 5.5", 237pp. A history of the Lancashire town of Nelson and its older neighbour Marsden from pre-history to the 1950s. Also provides useful information on the surrounding East Lancashire towns and villages including Colne, Burnley, Briefield etc and the landscape of Pendle, as well as the West Riding towns and villages of Barnoldswick, Elslack, Skipton etc. Black and white plates. Indexed. Dark red boards, with gilt titles to spine, are slightly warped and have some slight scuff and surface marks; slightly bumped to top and tail of spine. Marbled endpapers. Neat contemporary previous owner's gift inscription in ink to endpapers. No dw. A good, sound copy. (Book ref. 2658)  £30.00
