Hardback, 100mm x 175mm tall (4" x 7" approx.). 300pp, with a colour frontispiece plate and 41 further colour illustrations, many full-page; 24 black & white photos and 60 text figures + a double-page spread of a b/w photo of a plan of Liverpool 1655 and a second similar spread of the street-plan of central Liverpool in 1912. [Of perhaps particular interest are the dozen or so pages of testimonials for Wellcome products, containing as they do details and photographs of eleven of the principal aviators of the period and their aircraft. There is also some mention of the Polar explorers of the day]. Three preliminary leaves have had their upper free corners folded down as page-markers, otherwise almost fine, in the original red cloth-covered boards [blind-decorated to the rear board with a view of Wellcome's London Works], with gilt title & logo and all edges gilt, and with dark-green-on-gold illustrated endpapers. "Anglo-Saxon Leechcraft" was the British Medical Association lecture given in Liverpool in 1912 and is contained in the first 100pp. This is followed by sections on the Materia Medica Farm; Historical Medical Equipments; Some Characteristic Cases; a Formulary and a trade catalogue.
