Pp viii, 248, with illustrated adverts to front endpapers and 168 text figs. + a 16pp Publisher's illustrated list in covers printed in red & black. Paper stock lightly toned, otherwise almost fine, in the original embossed & gilt decorated brown cloth-covered boards/gilt titles. [The records show 1898 as having been the date of first publication, with the second edition, revised by W.J. May appearing in 1922. The revisions seem to have been somewhat drastic, as May's edition only had 140 pages, as against 248 here.] (Book ref. 003311)  £45.00
