Pp (xii), 463, with profuse illustrations in both line & photo, and with two colour-plates; a multi-folding plate with sectional and elevational drawings of J. Elder & Co's 'Lahn'; a similar of the twin-screw steamers 'Rhein' & 'Main'; and a large, multi-folding, full-colour plate cut-away view of a steamer, together with a tipped-in sheet 'Berichtigun', [Errata]. Text throughout in both German and English. Two small marginal tears-without-loss neatly repaired, and the small embossed stamp impression of the University of Keele to the lower blank margin of the title-leaf, otherwise very good, in dark-green, cloth-covered boards/gilt spine title.
