The Linlithgowshire copy of the National Covenant of Scotland was handed to the Laird of Dundas in 1638 "to be keipitt" after having been signed by the nobles, barons, ministry, gentry and people of the shire. This interesting document remained from that time in the possession of the Lairds of Dundas, without changing hands, until 1924, when it became the property of Alex. Wallace, Esquire, J.P. of Whitehill, Aberdour, Fife. Mr Wallace presented the document to St. Giles Catheral, where it may now be seen in the Ante-Chapel of the Chapel to the Thistle.
