First edition. Pp. xx, 507. Frontispiece, a folding map of the Valley if the Dee and Braemar, and an engraving of Lochnagar. Illustrations in the text and a folding sketch map of the Basin of the River Dee. There are chapters on birds, plants, molluscs, insects and minerals. There is a long section on deer. Bound in original red cloth with gilt royal motif. There is a new matching spine with gilt titles. There is some foxing on the frontispiece. The text is very clean and the binding excellent.
