Wood engraved frontispiece and decorated pictorial title. The title is given as "The Juvenile Library by Mrs. Tuthill and Others." This is followed by "Preface for Parents" in which [Mary Howitt] advances her ideas on education. "The Childhood of Mary Leeson" follows, although authorship is unassigned. This is a very good plus copy in the original green cloth. The boards are elaborately blind stamped. The gilt titled and embossed spine is slightly faded. Internally there is foxing at the corners of the tissue guard. This has offset onto the title and frontispiece. The remainder of the text is clean and bright. There is no weakness to the stitching.
