[5th. Edn]. 8vo. (19cm. tall x 13cm.). pp. title to appendix. 435 - 504. With 12 folding line engraved plates. Extracted from the author's Treatise on Algebra the appendix to which was not translated into English until the 5th. Edn. of 1788. The whole is neatly bound in modern black cloth with MACLAURIN - GEOMETRICAL CURVES in gilt to the spine. Internally the text is crisp and clean. Plate II. with a single fold has been mis-folded resulting in creasing to the cente. Plate V. with a double fold has suffered a similar mishap and shows creasing to the outer margin. 6 of the 9 figures on Plate I have areas colour washed, in red and blue and 1 figure of 9 on Plate V is similarly coloured in blue.
