1st. thus. Medium 8vo. (18cm. tall x 12cm.). pp. xvi, 317. plus 3pp. publisher's adverts. With a biographical introduction by A. M. Williams. With 24 plates in colour and 1 in monochrome from photographs by R. Johnson, Chelsea, London. These photographs are all against stage settings. In the original dark blue cloth with black & gilt embossed banner title and black embossed portrait to front board. The spine carries the title and the publisher in black against gilt printed labels. The top edge is gilt. Gilt marbled endpapers form a delightful contrast to the dark blue of the cloth. There is slight wear to the head and tail of the spine. Half a dozen very small scratches to the centre of the spine. This apart a very good plus copy. (Book ref. 4168)  £27.50
