The recto is Bawden's cartoon for Shell - "Wellington Barracks but Shell Cheers." The verso is a printed ad for Gered, Wedgwood specialists of Piccadilly Arcade. Bawden provides the full page pictorial title and numerous in text decorations. From the library of the critic, Alan "Jock" Dent. Although unsigned it bears the small neat label and cancel stamp of "The Alan Dent Collection, Shakespeare Centre Library to the front pastedown. There are no other library marks. In the original yellow cloth with red lettered spine. There is a bump to the centre of the spine. The text shows the usual marginal browning. The colour decorated wrapper is slightly soiled. It shows rubbing to the edges and there is a strip 5 cm. long and 1cm. tall missing from the lower corner of the front panel. The rear foldover carries a few of Dent's pencil annotations.
