1st. thus. 8vo. pp. xv, 479. All edges gilt. 2 engraved plates. This volume comprises the Four Cantos of Childe Harold's Pilgrimage together with the Notes to each canto and the Appendix. In full contemporary calf. Four gilt scrolled raised bands and gilt titling to the spine. Elaborately tooled gilt border with a blind stamped inner decoration to the boards. Gilt doublures. Marbled endpapers with the armorial plate of R. J. Lambton, Morton House to the front pastedown. The bookseller's ticket of J. Arnould, 2 Spring Gardens is to the top corner. The two plates are heavily foxed and this has affected the adjoining leaves. The upper corner of the back board is well worn and there are some signs of light rubbing.
