Hill shading depicts the higher ground. The Wapentake and Hundred boundaries are coloured. There is a 10cm. tear but no loss. There are 3 engraved plates:- A Section of the measures at Snitterton and an Elevation of the Furnace at Staveley: Inscription on a Tombstone at Repton: Folding plate of Arbor Low. This set has been bound with alternating double blank inserts. There are no annotations on any of these. This creates 2 vols. in 4. In contemporary full tree calf. Red and black labels to the spines. Small section missing from title label to Vol. I. Part I. The spines are rubbed and a little worn. Some wear to the edges og the boards. The front hinge of Vol. I. Part II. is split but the stitching and front board are in sound condition. The text is clean and remarkably free from foxing. In all a very good set with the scarce geological section.
