Reprint. Small 8vo. (12.5cm. tall x 8cm.). pp. xii. 256. With a frontispiece of the Lamentation after Fried.(rich) Overbeck engraved by Daniel, a Paris. All edges are gilt. In the original black leather. Gilt lettered and blind decorated spine. The boards carry a crucifix in blind within blind ruled borders. Gilt decorated doublures. There is some light dampstaining of the endpapers, extending to the frontispiece. The text is clean and very good. A florid contemporary inscription is to the front free endpaper. The ticket of J. Chisholm, Lothian Road, Edinburgh. is to the front pastedown. In all a very good sound copy of this devotional work. The binding is remarkably almost unworn. (Book ref. 6204)  £42.50
