After 12 vols it was superseded by Magikon - Archives for Observations concerning the Realms of the Spirit World of Magnetic Life, which ceased publication in 1853. Kerner's interest in the supernatural and animal magnetism derived from his (initially) medical treatment of Frederica Hauffe - the Seeress of Prevost and a whole school of philosopy was built on her revelations during trance to Kerner. Kerner's exploration of the psychic and mystical spheres were believed to have significantly influenced inter alia Kant, Baader and Jung who regarded Kerner as a forerunner of clinical psychology' (Glen Friesen).
