Good+. Delightful, Illustrated Children's Book from the 1920s designed to be played with like a doll's house. Landscape Format, 11 1/2" Wide X 9" Tall. Brown cloth spine withh paper covered boards, front illustrated with children climbing over a garden wall. A few pages of text with some B&W In Text drawings then 26 beautiful double page full colour views of the house and gardens (2 views double up with parts of the one before), with opening doors, cupboards etc. Starting with the Front gate, up the drive, through all the rooms (including drawing room, bedrooms, nursery, kitchen etc, out into the garden with croquet laws, green house and finally to the orchard with chicken, paddock with horse and out at the back gate with fields beyond. Designed to be played with flat cut out dolls. Quite a few cut out dolls included, most home made, not sure if any of the others are original. Some edgewear to cover. All the doors etc are there. A few little tears. Colours bright and fresh. Binding a bit loose. A charming survival from a period when children were encouraged to use their own imaginations.
