Half-Leather. Near Good. Title Page missing, book begins with a the preface (some of it missing) and the Pronunciation pages. Then the Dictionary begins. Contemporary binding, black calf leather to spine, wrapping over boards by 1 1/8". Leather corners. Brown textured cloth. 5 gilt decorated raised bands to spine. Gilt Title on dark red ground in 2ndcompartment on spine. Interesting old dictionary,( undated, mid 19th century), many small in text engraved illustrations and a nice section of full page plates at the back, illustrating Ships, Guns, Anatomy, Steam Engines and more. Hinges cracked. Some wear to leather. Apart from the problem at the very front, the rest of the text pages and plates are in very good condition. Heavy book so postage will be extra.
