Vellum. Near Very Good. Complete with Fold-Out Map of the Roman Forum, in the Chapter on Rome, and Large Fold-Out Map at the back. In contemporary Ivory Vellum Binding with Gilt fine lines and Grecian Decoration to spine. Gilt Title on Brown leather label. 7 1/4" Tall. Original owner's inscription on endpaper, dated 1836 with sketch of Ionic Column etc. Some soiling to boards, pages in very good, clean condition. Map at rear has a fine closed tear along a fold (2" Long) and there is a closed tear, 3" long, where the map is attached to the endpaper. (Book ref. 006879)  £300.00
