BULL Phil B.Sc: Best Horses Of 1946. , Hardback. Published in 1947 by Portway Press.

According to Phil Bull the two-year-old Tudor Minstrel was exceptionally fast and even better than Dante at two. In the five furlong National Breeders Produce Stakes at that time a very important race Phil rated him 1.70 fast which he described as an astonishing performance. Phil went onto describe the colt as a possible Triple Crown winner. However, we all make mistakes. The best three-year-olds of the season were the grey Epsom Derby wonner Airborne trained by Captain Boyd-Rochfort and Gulf Stream a very speedy son of Hyperion. The best older racehorse was Honeyway. He was rated fast in every race and his best distance was six furlongs. Yet he won the ten furlong Champion Stakes beating Gulf Stream. The book is fitted with a very nice copy Dust Wrapper. Book covers are in near fine condition. There are signs of foxing on the front end paper and the pages are very clean with no inscriptions and are in Very Good condition. (Book ref. 1256)  £80.00
