The top thoroughbred racehorses of the 1966 flat sason included Charlottown, Pieces of Eight,Sodium,Valoris, Aunt Edith and Ribocco. Vincent O'Brien was champion trainer yet he only won eight races from seven horses. Gordon Smyth and Noel Murless were the runners-up. Lester Piggott was the champion jockey and he rode over ninety winners more than the Australian runners-up Scobie Breasley and Ron Hutchinson. The leading apprentice was the amazing Scots jockey Sandy Barclay. He rode 71 winners and was seventh in the jockeys list. The D/W is a Very Good copy.
