The 1966 flat season was a very good year particularly for Lester Piggott. He rode a total of 191 winners, The runners-up Australians Scobie Breasley and Ron Hutchinson rode 97 and 95 winners respectively.The top racehorses were Charlottown, Pieces of Eight, Sodium and Valoris.
