First English Edition (First Impression). Quarter Buckram with Paper Boa. Very Good ++/Very Good. 4 hand coloured illustrations on silk, and all other plates, present. Some pages uncut. Buckram spine with handmade paper boards. A nice tight and clean book with the only defect being that there has been some leeching from the paint on the boards that has come through to the leading edges on the inside of the boards. There is a ex libris bookplate of Shakespeare & Company, Paris on the front pastedown. The leeching has also affected the inside of the jacket and shows as a slight discolouration at places on the outside. The jacket is pretty much all there but it is rubbed and worn with creasing and tearing around edges and a 1" tear at top of front hinge on spine.
