Milne, A A , When We Were Very Young rep, Winnie the Pooh 1st, Now We Are Six 1st, The House at Pooh Corner 1st

Milne, A. A. When We Were Very Young (rep), Winnie the Pooh (1st), Now We Are Six (1st), The House at Pooh Corner (1st) , London: Methuen.

Illustrated by Shepard, E. H.. First Edition. Near Fine/Very Good+. A nice set of these classic stories and poems. The books are all very nice and the jackets are more than decent. WWWVY is 19th edition (1929) but the other 3 titles are all first editions in the correct 1st issue dust jackets. All four books are clean, bright and tight and they are all without inscriptions. The gilt lettering and top edges are bright on all volumes. The jackets all have some loss at spine ends but are otherwise complete. WWWVY (rep), book is very clean, bright and tight. It has minor bumping to spine ends with a tiny hint of wear to cloth at base. Very slightly cocked and minor offsetting to endpapers and half title. The jacket is a little darkened to spine which has shallow loss at base and deeper at top where the first word of the title is affected. The rear panel has some light rubbing and a few minor marks. Front panel pretty good. WTP (1st ed 1926), clean bright and tight. Bumps to bottom front corners and cloth at spine ends is a bit softened with minor wear to very base. Some offsetting to endpapers from jacket flaps. The panels of the (1st issue) jacket are lightly rubbed and the spine is darkened with some scrapes and loss to spine ends. Small nicks to corners. NWAS (1st ed 1927), book is clean, tight and bright. Some fading at top of spine that corresponds to the loss at top of the jacket. Light wear to cloth at base of spine and a bump to bottom rear corner are the only flaws. The jacket is a bit rubbed to panels which is a little worse on rear. Spine is darkened with very shallow loss at base and a larger loss across top of spine which carries over to the rear panel which also has one 1/4" tear at top. TH@PC (1st ed 1928), bumped to spine ends and offsetting to end papers from the jacket flaps are the only flaws. The cloth is a fresh salmon and not like the light pink it often turns to. The jacket has tiny nicks to corners, a spine that is slightly darkened with loss at top that does not affect the lettering and a couple of miniscule nicks at base. Postage will be confirmed when you enquire or order and for light or very heavy books will vary from the ABE quote which is based on a 1kg parcel. (Book ref. 002749)  £2200.00
