Beautifully three quarter leather binding over cloth boards with gilt coat of arms to the upper cover. 5 raised bands. bright gilt titling and decorations. Book plate 'Alexander A Berens' on f. paste down. Beautiful colour frontis of Henry VIII ( 2 plates 1 in colour and 1 in b/w.) . 43 further tissue guarded b/w plates engraved by Manzi, Joyant & Co at Asnieres-Sur-Seine, near Paris. There are a further 38 tissue guarded duplicate plates which are in a slightly different tone to the previous one. 1902.
