Internally very good. Institution of Military Engineers compliments slip pasted to front pastedown and a letter from the War Office prersenting this volume to Maj.-Gen. Sir Horace Roome (Engineer-in-Chief, India, 1943-1947) tipped onto front free endpaper. A nice association copy. With, loosely inserted, seven manuscript diary pages, presumably in the hand of Sir Horace Roome, dated Mond. 9th November - 29th December ,no year but wartime. Descriptive of his journey from Delhi to Basra & thence to Cairo where he describes the wreckage on the battlefields, to London, Gibraltar where he meets Eisenhower, and thence to Karachi.
