With gilt edges and five raised bands on spine, very slightly rubbed at top spine edge and corner edges, last page and endpapers very slightly browned and with a few spots of foxing, 2cm tear halfway up front edge on page 145. Marbled endpapers, and small label inside front board. A very good tight copy. Two tipped in letters (copies) one dated 1631 this one has a 7cms closed tear on letter along left margin. The second letter has a 1cm tear at top edge and is dated 1640, both are written in French. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper dated 5th July 1899. 496pp, including table.
