All these paintings were done between 1827-1832 by the Drummond children. The paintings give a unique glimpse into the world in which the children lived, and the scenes and people they depict, together with the miscellaneous writing of their cousin Fanny Drummond. Which enable us to see some of the prevailing attitudes to childhood and to gain an insight into how the children themselves perceived their world. Giving us a wealth of detail, ranging from dress to servants, and showing how they lived their lives, in the schoolroom, boisterous indoor games or an informal dance in the drawing room.
