Book in good condition, front free endpapers partly tanned. Slight foxing on fore-edge. Last ten pages have a very tiny tear at front edge. Only a few spots of foxing on a few of the pages, otherwise pages are clean and bright. Plate VI page is slightly longer at the front edge than the rest of the pages and has a few small tears along the front edge. Two newspaper cuttings are pasted inside front board. Between pages 48 and 49 a little of the webbing is showing, but there is no looseness and the book is a good tight copy (see picture). Dustjacket in poor condition, small piece missing at top front and back outer corner edges and at top of spine, and rubbed in places. xv, 272pp, including Archaeological Gazetteers of East Riding - North Riding - West Riding - York. With frontispiece, 42 illustrations in the text, 11 plates, and 2 maps one a folding map of Roman Yorkshire at the back of the book.
