Folio (40cm x 29cm), 28pp, 80 plates (complete as per list). Half black morocco, marbled paper-covered boards, gilt titling to the spine, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Binding heavily rubbed, upper joint cracked (and repaired), light paraffin stain to the leading edge of many of the plates (the stain generally extends into the right-hand edge of the printed image). Overall, this copy is in fair to good condition only. A rare book - COPAC lists only two copies, one of which is an edition printed by A Levy in 1870. This edition is undated, but may be slightly earlier (c. 1862). The text is numbered by column, with two columns of text to each page.
