Boards slightly dusty, light staining to pp 10/11; overall, this copy is in good plus condition. Pole was General Manager of the Great Western Railway from 1921 to 1929, and most of this book is concerned with his railway career. Taped to the front free endpaper is a typed letter (signed in ink) from the author to "My dear Todd", referring to a report that Todd submitted to the GWR Board regarding a design for the future of Paddington station.
