Original black cloth, gilt titling to the front boards and the spines, top edges gilt. Bindings rubbed, minor bump to the spine of volume 1, light foxing of the preliminary pages, bookplate and ownership stamp to the front endpapers of each volume. Overall, the books are in good plus condition. Signed by the author on the title page of the first volume, and signed by two members of the Luttrell family (G F Luttrell and Annie F Luttrell) on the title page of the second volume.
