First Edition. Very Good. 8vo Collation, title page, lacking blank b2, v-xxxii+270, errata, lacking fly-title with quotation from Pindar. Quite difficult to find exact collation, but appears to be complete for second issue. Bound in original publishers grey boards. At some time this volume has been professionally rebacked, reatining the original title label, boards bumped on corners, light rubbed on edges. Binding in very good clean condition.Internally, no loose pages, very occasional correction to text in a very neat hand. Front free endpaper has a small section missing from bottom margin, some age darkening to margins throughout. Pages in very good clean condition.Housed in a very attractive red full calf binders box, with is slight rubbed/scuffed, and age darkened. A very nice copy.8816. A5 (Book ref. 008816)  £750.00
