1st Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall 216pp. Original blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are a little scuffed on extremities and marked on rear. Internally the contents are spotted, mainly to first and last few pages, but with sporadic foxing throughout. There is an inscription on the front endpaper and front hinge is cracked , but the contents are tight. It is illustrated with 8 b/w plates plus a frontispiece with tissue guard, and pages are deckled. V.G. The extraordinary autobiography of a cleric who became Dean of Romsey Abbey, but enjoyed becoming more well known as an inventor of a collapsible boat among other things which are listed on the last page.
