Original blue cloth boards with gilt designs and lettering, a little marked [ mostly on rear boards], and rubbed to edges and corners, and with short tears to top and toe of spines. Internally both volumes clean and tight with no inscriptions, but with neatly repaired tear to first and last page. o/w V.G. A tremendous work that covers the heavens, earth, plant life, animal life and the oceans. With an intrduction by Lord Avebury . and contributions from the likes of Herbert Maxwell, Edward Step and Frank Finn among others.
