8vo., First Edition, with a folding map as frontispiece and 14 maps (4 folding; one with minor loss at outer edge just affecting legend, some very light and occasional spotting to text and fore-edges (as often); original regimental burgundy cloth, upper board blocked with crest in gilt and lettered in blue, gilt back, an unusually well-preserved, bright, crisp copy. With the separately printed errata slip mounted at beginning of text, and 4pp publisher's catalogue bound in at end. The standard history of the regiment in the Great War. 1st and 2nd Bns fought with Guards Division on the Western Front. With a chapter on the Reserve Battalion; includes casualties, strengths and drafts, honours and awards. The work was started by Ewart, but he was killed in Mexico in 1922.
