8vo., First Edition thus, with 32 fine wood-engravings (all original tissue guards present) in the text; original pebble-grain brown cloth, backstrip lettered in gilt, cream endpapers, corners lightly bruised, small pull and split in upper joint at headband else a very good, bright, crisp copy. With the separately printed errata slip bound in following text. With 12pp publisher's catalogue, including 6pp illustrated prospectus of Yarrell's Fishes, bound in at end. In addition there is a separately printed slip announcing Bell's British Quadrupeds. The illustrations are engraved by Bagg, Byfield, Sladen, Smith and Williams among others, after drawings by Boxall, Callcott, Cattermole, Constable, Landseer, Stothard, Westall and others.
