3 vols., 8vo., First Editions, with 3 frontispieces (all original tissue guards present) and 397 fine half-tone plates (the great majority full-page) from photographs, endpapers moderately browned; original cloth gilt, gilt backs, boards (only) mildly mottled else a very good, bright, clean set. The first work of its kind since Oliver's Ecclesiastical Antiquities [1839-42] and one of the glories of the published ecclesiology of Devon. Indeed few, if any, English counties benefit from surveys illustrated to this extent and standard. Increasingly scarce, especially as a set in this condition.
