Cockburn. Lord (Henry): Memorials of his Time , A&C Black 1856

Anecdotal autobiography of the Scottish lawyer who became solicitor general; probably his most noteworthy case being that of Burke and Hare, which is dealt with briefly in the book. Bound in at the back is a scarce pamphlet entitled Exposure of the Attack on Lord Cockburn's Memorials, taken from a series of articles in The Scotsman, apparently by the editor, Andrew Russell. 470pp + 34pp in the pamphelt, bound by MacLehose of Glasgow in three-quarter leather with raised bands on spine, gilt titles and top edges, marbled covers and endpapers, minimal rubbing of corners, spine a shade sunned o/w F (Book ref. 118)  £80.00
