The front pastedown has the prize bookplate for one of the country's major Independent Schools, "Nicholas College St Saviour's Ardingly, Special History Prize June 1878 to F. G. Maturin." This may be Frederick Gray maturin, b.17.5.1863. The Maturin family is probably most famous for the clergyman novelist Charles Maturin, a relation of Oscar Wilde. The book shows a little rubbing but is in very good condition.
